SHOW PREVIEW: FEVERBONES @ THE MOHAWK w/ HELLO CALLER AND RADIATION CITY (PORTLAND)
Feverbones released their debut EP on February 21st at the Blackheart Bar over on Rainey Street. I was there and it was awesome. Come to find out that this band is heavily involved in several other projects in town, including Dana Falconberry, the Eastern Sea, Sun Marquee, and the now defunct Great Nostalgic. Needless to say, these dudes have the connect, but their EP (below) is really great. It’s got this great skewed way of presenting some cool pop ideas, really, really, tight bass and drum work that a lot of bassists and drummers will be into, and they’ve got that glassy, suspended seventh chord feel to a lot of their songs that lets you sort of sink into it a little bit. Not to mention they’re tight (read: together musically) as shit live. Worth the $10 alone.
