NIGHTMOVES // Friday August 9

NIGHTMOVES

Thursday Night – Pack your bike up in your car or already have it locked up somewhere at the office. You won’t be going home before you head out.

1pm – Your boss is out of the office today so you’ve got the whole day to yourself. Go get nimosa gear at the local H-E-B and enjoy a couple at the office. While you’re there pull out $40 bucks from the register to avoid those annoying ATM fees later on.

1:30 – Drink nimosas and wrap up any loose ends so your bases are covered come Monday.

3:30 – Duck out to Hops and Grain Brewery for their free tastings. Enjoy the cool, entrepreneurial vibes of the brewery. You can spend no money here, or you can get some merch ’cause they’re giving away their beer.

4:30 – Head back to the office.

5pm – Since you work downtown and you’ve got your bike already, make sure you make it over to the Grackle for their Happy Hour Vinyl party. Sure, it might be playing into the “hipsters-love-hi-fi” thing but the drinks are usually cheap and the music will be great to listen to. It’s going to be over 100 degrees at 5pm so make sure you sit inside. Don’t push yourself. Drink deep and slow and say very few words. Enjoy it. Buy two Fireman’s #4′s ($8 plus tip). You have $32 left.

8:30 – As darkness rolls in, go get the nimosa gear and stash a small emergency supply somewhere in an the alley on the Eastside between E. 6th and E. 7th. This is strategic planning.

9pm – Ride your bike over to the Museum of Human Achievement and catch Boyfrndz at 9pm. They just released a new EP called Natures and it is officially Nightmoves endorsed. $5 to get in. Bring your own nimosas. You have $27 left.

10:15 – Head back down to 6th and Comal and pop in a the Eastern. Every Friday they have Fuckme Fuckme Fridays which is basically a bunch of young sexy kids getting down to some old school hip hop spun by ULoveI. Very groovy. Very scene. Drinks aren’t cheap and the lines are usually painfully long so you’ll probably only spend about $7 there, including tip for a drink. You have $20 left. You’re there to dance anyways.

11:30 – Go to your stash in the alley and pound a nimosa with your friends. They’ll appreciate the forethought.

11:45 – Head on down to Club deVille to see the Gorgeous Hands. They put out a new record earlier this summer and we’ve featured them a couple times on here before. $5 to get in. Drink 1 Stella for $4. $5 if you include a tip. You have $10 left.

1:15 – After saying hi to the Hands, ride your bike back to the Eastside to Cheer Ups and get a Me So Hungry Chicken Bahn Mi. Hang out a Cheer Ups or in the alley where you stashed nimosas and chow. They’re $7 on the nose. You have $3 left which is enough for a $2 drink plus tip though I’m not sure the Cheer Ups has a $2 drink. Always leaving room to cover a tip, you may have to borrow a buck from someone or just not get anything.

2:30 – You’ve literally been drinking for more than 12 hours. You deserve a nice sleep. Crash at the office if you can.
